The Story Told (2014)
Strings, timpani, chimes, harp. 9’

A soundtrack composed for the short independent film by the same title; the film is based
on an emotionally charged episode in the novel The Historian, by Elizabeth Kostov. The
book’s basis is a blending of the history and folklore surrounding Vlad Țepeș and his
fictional counterpart Count Dracula.

Pleiades Starpoint (1986)

Piano, synthesizer, percussion solo. 25’

Music for a collaborative dance project based on a sculptural work of James Hendricks.
Performances were held at the Northampton Arts Center in Northampton, Massachusetts.

L’Appassionata (1987 – 1993, incomplete)

Opera in three acts; voices & orchestra
Libretto by John Newell, based on the writings of George Sand and Alfred de Musset;
primary roles are for soprano, tenor and baritone.

Scenes from Act I were presented at the Lichtenstein Center for the Arts in Pittsfield,

Music for Crazy Jane (1972)
